Figuratively SpeakingThe English language comprises many literary devices that add richness and life to phrases and expressions. In our daily lives we encounter literary devices in poems, stories, newspapers, plays, songs, movies and even in our own conversations. Literary devices that we will cover to prepare for the College Board exam are on the "Literary Terms" page. Some terms will be review from Pre-AP English 9 and 10; other terms will be new for AP English 11.
